Welcome to Jimiri! If you’re visiting this site, that means you’re interested in helping address our country’s social justice challenges by building friendships, understanding, and empathy across racial lines. With our Youth Leadership Program, the solutions begin with your children!
Your child will be assigned to a group of 12 students representing different racial, ethnic, and geographic backgrounds. Together they’ll choose a common-interest activity such as art, digital photography, public speaking, or sports journalism.
For 10 weeks in each of the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade school years, the Jimiri groups meet on Sunday afternoons at a local Black history or civil rights museum. The groups are led by high-school and college students who serve as facilitators. Staff supervisors, including licensed educators, are on hand to supervise and assist.
If you’re interested in enrolling your child, please fill out the form below. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Thank you for your interest in Jimiri!
