Jimiri’s core curriculum for race, racism, and Black history is a youth program for middle school students (6th-8th grade).
The program is divided into three 8-week sessions (Spring-Fall-Spring).
Students in training to become high school facilitators participate in two additional 8-week sessions (8th-9th grade).
As part of Jimiri’s Youth Leadership Program, students engage in supervised discussions of race, racism, and Black history, led by trained high-school and college student facilitators. Licensed staff supervisors are also present to help guide discussions.
